Regret Adopting a Dog? How to Handle Adoption Blues
Feeling adopter's remorse after getting a dog? It's normal. Learn why it happens, get practical tips, and find out how shelters can help you overcome dog.
Boop is a sweet and resilient girl who has overcome a difficult past. Initially fearful due to previous mistreatment, she has blossomed in foster care, learning to trust and accept love. It took her about five days to understand that her foster family meant her no harm, and now she's ready to show her true, affectionate self. Once comfortable, Boop is incredibly loyal and doesn't recognize personal space, eager to be close to her chosen people.
As a Dachshund, Boop has a charming personality but also some specific needs. She is good with other dogs, especially a young, small, well-socialized companion who can help her learn and build confidence. However, she is not suitable for homes with cats or children under the age of 12, as Dachshunds can be impatient with very young kids and their delicate backs need careful handling. She is working on leash training but is crate trained and uses puppy pads if she can't get outside.
Boop's ideal home is one filled with patience, understanding, and consistent love. She needs an adopter experienced with fearful dogs who can provide a safe and stable environment. A fenced yard is an absolute must for her, and she would thrive with someone who can be home more often than not. Apartments, high-rises, or condos are not suitable for Boop. If you're ready for a loyal, lifelong companion who will cherish your affection, Boop is waiting to find her forever family.
