Dog Won't Eat After Adoption: What to Do
Is your newly adopted dog not eating? Don't panic! Learn why this common issue happens and get actionable tips to help your dog eat and settle in.
Meet Cinch, a confident and bold 13-week-old puppy with a friendly, social, and outgoing personality. This athletic and super smart boy loves his people, offering plenty of cuddles and kisses with a touch of that characteristic cattle dog clinginess. Cinch is doing wonderfully with his puppy training, having started crate training and housebreaking, and already knows 'sit' and comes when called. He is currently living with other dogs, cats, and horses, showing curiosity rather than reactivity, and is gentle with children, exhibiting minimal puppy biting.
As an Australian Cattle Dog mix, Cinch possesses the breed's intelligence, strength, and high energy. These dogs are known for their loyalty and trainability, excelling in activities that engage both their minds and bodies. While Cinch shows no signs of aggression or resource guarding, he does get a little jealous of attention given to other dogs, which is a common trait that can be managed with consistent training. His play style is rough and tumbly, but he respects adult dogs, indicating good social skills.
Cinch would thrive in a working household with good structure or an active family ready to provide him with plenty of mental and physical stimulation. He shows great potential as a training partner, farm dog, or jogging/hiking buddy. Given his love for the outdoors and high energy, a fenced yard is essential for his safety and happiness. Cinch is up to date on current vaccinations and preventatives, but his new family will need to continue his vaccination series and ensure his neuter at approximately 6 months of age.
