Regret Adopting a Cat? How to Handle the Feeling
Feeling regret after adopting a cat is normal. Discover common causes, understand your cat's adjustment, and learn practical steps to cope and get support.
Dixie is a sweet and resilient senior Dachshund with a charmingly stubborn personality. Despite being blind, she navigates her environment quickly once familiar and enjoys a relaxed pace of life. She's quite food-motivated, making treat-based training effective, and loves to lounge and be doted upon. While generally easygoing, Dixie is a true Dachshund at heart, sometimes preferring to do things her own way, but she responds well to gentle guidance.
As a Dachshund, Dixie embodies the breed's spirited and independent nature. Her smooth coat requires minimal grooming, and shedding is moderate. Given her age and special needs, her energy and exercise requirements are low; she's content with short potty breaks and plenty of naps. Due to her blindness and breed temperament, she is best suited for a home without small children (under 12) or other pets, allowing her to be the sole focus of attention.
Dixie is searching for a very special forever home with a person or people who understand and are prepared for the needs of an older, blind dog. An ideal adopter will appreciate her independent spirit, provide a calm and consistent environment, and offer the loving attention she thrives on. She is housetrained to a doggie door and crate trained, making her an easy companion for someone ready to open their heart to this deserving girl.
