Getting a Pet After Divorce: Healing and Timing
Considering getting a pet after divorce for healing and companionship? Learn crucial timing, how to choose the right pet from a shelter, and practical.
Finn is a big, sensitive sweetheart with a soft, marshmallow personality. Once he feels safe and settled in a calm, familiar environment, he relaxes into a gentle, goofy companion who enjoys playtime and quiet moments alike. He loves carrying his oversized knotted rope toy like a prized treasure and is highly food-motivated, making him very responsive to training. Finn is fully housetrained and crate trained, settling quietly in his crate, though he prefers chew-safe bedding.
As a Saint Bernard and Cane Corso mix, Finn possesses the gentle giant nature of the Saint Bernard combined with the loyalty and protective instincts of the Cane Corso. These breeds typically require moderate grooming to manage their medium coats and experience moderate shedding. He enjoys long, relaxed walks on leash and thrives with a friendly canine companion to help him feel secure. He is polite and curious around cats, doing best with slow, thoughtful introductions.
Finn is a timid boy in new situations and around unfamiliar people, especially men, exhibiting fear-based responses. He requires a quiet, women-only home with patience, consistency, and a gentle routine to help him settle and show his affectionate, loyal nature. A securely fenced yard and at least one friendly dog are essential for his well-being. Finn has completed basic training, and his trainers are available for refresher sessions to support his continued confidence building.
