Meet Julio, an energetic and mischievous young dog with a heart as big as his paws! This handsome boy is a survivor, now beginning to understand the warmth of love and security. Julio is still a bit unsure of his new surroundings but approaches everything with enthusiasm, especially when it comes to playtime. He absolutely adores playing ball with gusto and is working with dedicated volunteers to build his confidence and learn basic obedience. He is housetrained and good with other dogs, though he is still learning impulse control.

As a German Shepherd Dog, Julio embodies the breed's intelligence, loyalty, and protective instincts. He possesses a strong prey/ball drive, typical of herding breeds, which means he thrives on engaging activities and mental stimulation. While he currently barks reactively at other dogs and needs help with impulse control around cars, these are common traits that can be positively channeled with consistent training and an experienced handler. German Shepherds require moderate grooming to manage their shedding, and their high energy demands significant daily exercise.
