Lewie

Lewie is an awesome little guy with a heart full of loyalty, eager to find his forever companion. He's a well-behaved and potty-trained dog who knows his manners, especially when treats are involved—he'll happily sit without being asked! Lewie gets along famously with other dogs, making him a wonderful potential addition to a multi-pet household. His foster family describes him as a truly great dog who will bring joy and companionship to any home.

As a Beagle, Lewie embodies many of the beloved traits of his breed. Beagles are known for their friendly, curious, and merry dispositions. They are scent hounds, which means they love to follow their noses, and can be quite vocal with their characteristic baying. Lewie will thrive with consistent training and positive reinforcement, especially given his love for treats. His short coat is relatively low maintenance, requiring minimal grooming, but he does shed moderately. Beagles have a moderate energy level and require regular exercise to keep them happy and healthy, ideally 30-60 minutes of activity daily.

Lewie is looking for a home that appreciates his friendly nature and is prepared to provide him with daily walks and mental stimulation to satisfy his Beagle instincts. He would do well in a home with other dogs, as he's shown to be very compatible. While Lewie tested positive for Ehrlichiosis antibodies, his veterinarian has determined no treatment is necessary, and he is otherwise healthy. His ideal family will be one that offers him love, consistency, and plenty of opportunities for adventure, whether it's exploring the neighborhood or cuddling on the couch.
