Dog Won't Eat After Adoption: What to Do
Is your newly adopted dog not eating? Don't panic! Learn why this common issue happens and get actionable tips to help your dog eat and settle in.
Saxon is a truly gentle and super soft little girl, both in her sweet personality and lovely coat. Despite a rough start in life, being found freezing with her brother, she has healed beautifully and shows no ill effects. She's a smart puppy who takes a cautious approach to new things and absolutely loves playing with her stuffies, chew toys, and anything that squeaks. Her foster family describes her as one of the most lovable puppies ever, enjoying frolicking in the snow and being showered with affection.
As a Siberian Husky and Labrador Retriever mix, Saxon will grow into an adventurous companion. Huskies are known for their intelligence, energy, and love for the outdoors, while Labradors are famed for their friendly nature and trainability. Saxon is doing well with crate training at night and shows great promise with house training, crying to go outside for bathroom breaks. She is not very food motivated but has good manners, sitting gently for food and treats.
Saxon's ideal home should be relatively quiet, active, and love the outdoors, ready for hikes and long walks. Some experience with Husky traits would be beneficial as she matures. She gets along well with other dogs, but slow, monitored introductions are recommended. If there are cats, similar careful introductions are needed. Children should be aged 6 and up, gentle and kind. A fenced-in yard is essential for her safety and playtime. Saxon will thrive with adopters committed to puppy and obedience training to help her become the best girl possible.
