Regret Adopting a Dog? How to Handle Adoption Blues
Feeling adopter's remorse after getting a dog? It's normal. Learn why it happens, get practical tips, and find out how shelters can help you overcome dog.
Meet Sidney, a very handsome boy with a heart of gold, though he takes a little time to let it shine! Initially shy and scared when meeting new people, Sidney needs patience and understanding to feel safe. Once he trusts you, his true personality emerges, full of love, warmth, and contentment. He's known for his playful 'zoomies' with his small dog foster siblings and absolutely adores cuddling, making it his favorite pastime. Sidney has learned to trust and is ready to form an unbreakable bond with his forever family.
As an approximately 3-year-old Chihuahua mix, Sidney embodies the breed's potential for deep affection once comfortable. He thrives in the company of other small, confident dogs, enjoying play and wrestling. Due to his initial shyness and fear of visitors, an all-adult home is preferred, and he may not be best suited for apartment or condo living as he can bark when new people arrive. He is still working on his housetraining and leash manners, so a securely fenced yard is a must for his safety and comfort.
Sidney is looking for a home that can offer him immense patience and a gentle approach, without pressuring him until he is ready to initiate affection. His ideal family will include another confident dog to cuddle with and help him feel secure. Someone who is home frequently to continue his housetraining journey and provide consistent, positive reinforcement will be perfect. Most importantly, Sidney is bonded with his friend Clint, and they must be adopted together to ensure they both find their loving forever home.
