The Upper Rio Grande Animal Society is a dedicated nonprofit animal shelter committed to providing a safe environment and compassionate care for animals in need. Our mission focuses on preventing cruelty and abuse, while also nourishing the bond between companion animals and humans through education and readily available assistance. We proudly serve the Monte Vista area and surrounding low-income communities in Colorado, accepting strays from local law enforcement and individuals, as well as owner relinquishments. We primarily care for common companion animals such as dogs and cats.
