Dog Won't Eat After Adoption: What to Do
Is your newly adopted dog not eating? Don't panic! Learn why this common issue happens and get actionable tips to help your dog eat and settle in.
Frosty is a truly remarkable and affectionate companion, known for his intelligence, alertness, and deeply loving nature. He enjoys resting his head on your shoulder for a cuddle, a testament to his sweet and trusting personality. Despite facing a severe eye injury that led to surgical removal, Frosty has healed beautifully and is now thriving, eager to find a family who will continue to show him the joys of being loved and included.
As an Australian Shepherd, Frosty embodies the breed's characteristic intelligence, loyalty, and herding instincts. He is naturally alert and does an excellent job of letting his people know when something seems amiss. Aussies typically have moderate grooming needs, requiring regular brushing to manage their seasonal shedding. They are high-energy dogs that thrive on consistent exercise and mental stimulation, making them ideal partners for active individuals or families who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and long walks.
Frosty is seeking an active home, ideally in the Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, White Rock, or Los Alamos area, where his people enjoy interacting with their dog. He would do best as an only dog, or potentially with a compatible female dog, as busy multi-dog environments can sometimes make him anxious due to his single eye. He is not suited for homes with smaller male dogs or cats. If you're an active person or family ready to provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment, Frosty would be a wonderful addition to your life.
