The Hancock County Humane Society is a dedicated no-kill, non-profit animal shelter committed to finding permanent, loving homes for animals in its care. Primarily focusing on cats, the shelter provides daily care, including medical support, to ensure pets are healthy and adoptable. Staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by local community donations, the society also offers vital resources such as a pet food pantry, low-cost vaccination clinics, and spay/neuter information to support pet owners in Hancock County and prevent surrenders. They actively rescue cats from other facilities, embodying their motto of kindness.
